Start 2018 With Something Brand New!
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” Isaiah 43:18-19
It is January 2, 2018, the start of a brand new year!
Georgia just secured their position in the National Collegiate Play-off Game, and we are all recovering from Christmas and New Year’s. It is time to move forward to new things because the Lord does not want us to stay in yesterday or last year. We cannot limit our God to past miracles. He has many more miracles waiting for us in 2018!
I believe God is ready to stretch us and challenge our faith beyond what we could think or imagine. He desires to do exceedingly more this year, in a brand new way.
As I have requested for our Christwalk Family to consider some type of fast starting this week, I pray that you will let God know what fast you will commit to for 14-21 days. This will give God the first fruits of your year, as you allow the Holy Spirit to discipline you during this time. It will move you out of your comfort zone and away from your comfort foods. The result will be a deeper relationship with Him, and I cannot think of a better way to begin 2018!
Consider spending daily time in the word of God as you fast. While you are at it this week, reach out to someone who needs a little help. New routines and new challenges for the New Year.
God has already made us brand new because we are new creatures in Christ. The old has gone and the new has come! He is willing to do something new in our life, but we have to start by moving out of our old way of thinking and old habits and routines.
Let’s trust God to start something brand new, as we trust Him with this first week of 2018!
