Message: (Pastor Chip Woodall)
I hope everybody’s doing well. Thank you for joining me today. Umm… I just want to just jump right into this . . Have you ever felt like you have ever sensed something so strong from God that you literally felt like you were shaking on the inside about whatever it is that you sensed?
So today, I want to share how to activate your faith so you can see that what you’re sensing from God can really happen.
I want you to listen to this statement. Faith is an anticipation for what is about to happen. In other words, our faith should consistently create some type of expectancy. When we sense something is about to turn around or a situation is going to change, there's three things that needs to take place in our Christian life. Make note of these three things. Number one, we must begin to believe that whatever we're sensing is going to truly unfold. Number two, our faith has to be activated somewhere in the mist of whatever it is. And number three, we have to start moving toward it with zero doubt.
So let me let me recap that, believe . . . activate faith . . . move without doubt.
When we moved here to the mountains two and a half years ago to start Christwalk, our faith had to be activated. We had to start fully believing for what we had sensed all along for Christwalk. At that time, it’s crazy, but we had been waiting for 17 years. We raised our kids believing this, and and I can remember when we would sit in a small circle in the living room floor and pray about it, or as they got older we eventually would get around the kitchen table. But there was such anticipation for what was about to happen, that when God gave us the green light, our family had to start actively taking steps toward what we had waited for all of these years.
I can remember that we would drive up here to the mountains weekend after weekend. If it, if if there was any way possible, we would just come up here. And we would ride around activating our faith on this soil. We actively started moving on what we sensed God have been showing us to do for 17 years. Yet, we didn't know exactly where or when or how, we just believed it. And we activated our faith, and we started taking steps of direction. I can remember going to a place that we have in Clarksville, it's called Pitts Park. And we would walk by the track or the playground by the river cause the river flows around it. And we would walk and we would talk and and just being here where we knew that we were coming and talking about it . . . on the spot, increase our faith. We expected our family to move here. We were still living in Lincolnton. We were holding down our ministry responsibilities there, but we found time for what I think is “faith adventure”. And that's what you need to take. Sometimes you have to literally just take a leap of faith on what you sense that God showing you.
Jonah, who is now our son-in-law, is married to Emilee, was still in Moultrie. He was running his martial arts school. Katie who is now our daughter-in-law, she's married to Tyler, was still in Augusta, Georgia. She was getting her paralegal degree. But we all started seeing ourselves here in the mountains, together, doing the ministry of Christwalk. It required us to press into God's word to stay focused. And it was what we needed to continue to grow our faith through this process while we waited.
The truth of God's Word will adjust what we anticipate and believe. You and I must adjust to what truth reveals to us, or we will not progress forward in our Christian life when it comes to taking what I say or the big steps of faith. You can say, well I'm committed to what I am believing God for, and and I do move in faith. But here's what I would say, trust me there's more. Your commitment will only last until you're offended. It would have been easy to get offended at God and each other, I'm talking those of us in our family, while we were in this holding pattern. Because 17 years, listen it's a long time to believe, and trust God for something without giving up. We learned something very valuable in this process of waiting and believing. Our commitment relied on our strength. But listen to this . . . our submission relied on His strength.
Humility and submission are the game changers. If you want to truly move in what the Lord has for you, we had to understand this. You have to move past commitment and learn to actively walk in submission. So it required greater humility. The Word of God in his truth started to reinforce what we were sensing about coming here to the mountains to start Christwalk. It no longer was about commitment to Him or commitment to His Word. It was about submission to His Lordship. I'm talking surrendering everything in humility.
Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to surrender everything in humility to Him to literally see what you're sensing from God truly happen? Truth adjusted us to faith, and actively do something about what we sense, it was the truth in His Word that made us adjust. But it required submission and humility, in fact it cost us everything. Donna and I both had to give up our salaries. I was at a church and she was working for the school. And and she carried our insurance, so we lost our insurance. We had to sell her house that we had work so hard to restore. It was built in 1910. And and we love that house. But greater than any of the material items or the money, we had to humbly submit. I'm talking humbly submit from the inside out. And that required major adjustments in our life. Our kids had to leave everything behind. They had to leave their friends. They had to leave their jobs, their surroundings and Jonah and Katie, that I mentioned earlier, they had to leave their families and their jobs. It was one sacrifice after the next, then it required tons of faith adjustments.
I'm telling you it was God's Word that empowered us to it to make these adjustments. The true adjustments for me where the verses from Ephesians 3:20 . It is like they literally came alive in my spirit and this is why it is now my life verse. He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can say or think or even imagined. I had to get those words down in my spirit. His promise, you know the promise of His Word and my spirit and soul. And then my body had to activate the faith. That's what I'm trying to say.
Listen to this version of Ephesians 3:20 and this comes from the Passion Translation. Never doubt God's mighty power to work in you and accomplish all of this.
So I said all of what? All that I was sensing when I prayed and all that His Word revealed to me. Way before we actually moved here to start Christwalk.
The verse continues. He will achieve infinitely infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination. He will outdo them all. For his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
Look, once I started activating my faith and moving, then I realized I had to make more adjustments because of His truth. Its power constantly, everyday, energizes me.
Now listen to the verses before Ephesians 3:20. I want to start in verse 14 and go through verse 19. So I kneel humbly, so there's the humility that was talking about. It says I kneel humbly in all before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. The perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth. And I pray that He would unveil within you the limited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside of you and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences, the great magnitude of the astounding love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is is is His love. How enduring and inclusive it is. Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding. This extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God.
We used to laugh (chuckles) about a former prayer intercessor that we had . . . umm, and she would make a statement and and as we share things with her . . . I believe she was truly sensing what we were trying to explain to her about moving to the mountains. Here what the statement she would always say this, “I'm shaking on the inside.” We should be adjusting that much every day. Adjusting in faith over what we're sensing. To the point that we literally feel like we're shaking on the inside. She understood because when we shared these things she sensed it too. To the point that she, I believe started shaking on the inside with excitement, with expectancy. Because of what she sensed along beside of us.
Adjustment from His truth and the faith steps that we activated, look they were all consuming until it was all that we could think or talk about. The reason I believe people sense something from God, but nothing ever happens is because they don't talk about it enough, they don't believe it truly to where it's out there on the table. And and they see things that are not as though they already were. That's what you have to do.
We didn't get distracted by other people. We didn't listen to the naysayers that may have said well this is not going to work for you. You can't go to the mountains with your children and start Global Ministry. Look, it was our adventure in ministry. We stayed completely focused on what God was calling us to do and then we're still here completely focused.
If you want great things to happen in your life, then you have to get excited to the point that you literally start shaking on the inside with your faith . . . over what God is getting ready to do with you. I hope that you understand something, that this podcast will maybe activate your faith for your wildest dreams and imaginations with God to come true. Because it can!
