Hey everybody. We hope you enjoy today's episode of the 10-Minute Window was Pastor Chip Woodall, the lead pastor of Christwalk Church in Cornelia and Christwalk in the Valley in Clarkesville, Georgia.
Welcome everybody. I want to jump right into this episode of the 10 Minute Window.
Today’s podcast is going to help YOU understand the importance of having spiritual mothers and fathers. In other words, those who can pour wisdom from God’s Word into your life and here’s the other point, spiritual parents can help shape the sound of your voice by developing your spiritual gifts.
As a spiritual Father, God has sent me specifically to this area, and I know to speak into the lives of those individuals who come to both of our campuses of Christwalk whether it is the Church, retreats or conferences. Any message that the Lord allows me to bring them, or even those of you that might be listening to this podcast, the words I impart through messages can be used by the Holy Spirit to help develop the sound of your voice that is needed for greater vision, for the plans and purposes of your life, and the mission God gives you for your own personal ministry.
This is what I have had to learn from those who taught me. The sound of my voice had to be molded. It had to be groomed, at times prepared, and even disciplined. Listen to this, and it hurt, it hurt a lot at times. Why did it hurt? To release the mandated Word that God has set for my ministry, it just cannot fall down on deaf ears . . . it has to be heard! So, there's got to be times of disciplining.
Here’s what you need to understand. That powerful mandated Word that God has for YOU, and he definitely has one for you and the church where you attend or maybe even that you leave. Maybe you're a pastor or a ministry leader that mandated Word has been locked up in the spirit and the enemy will try so hard to keep it muffled out. He does not want you to speak, and he definitely does not want anyone to listen to you.
The great news is that God wants it to be released, but YOU have to allow the spiritual mothers and fathers to help prepare the sound of your voice. The enemy will always work overtime to keep you from developing the sound of your voice. The enemy does not want one bit of this to manifest and take place.
Look, this is what Christwalk is doing, this is what happening right now. I want to paint a picture of what shaping and molding and disciplining looks like.
We are teaching a prayer strategy. By the way, you can get that same prayer strategy off of our website at christwalkinternationalministries.org. You can go there now.
We’re also spending time becoming more established on God’s Word, that is the first pillar of Christwalk Ministries. And, if you want to look it up it comes from Psalms 119:38. We’ve . . . we have to be established on the Word of God for the sound of our voice to be heard. Here is another part, we also have a group of Church family that is meeting weekly to work on spiritual mapping for the areas that we’re evangelizing.
Look, we just found out that a group of teenagers were arrested for sacrificing animals just a quarter of a mile from our Church. Can you believe that? Through spiritual mapping we just found this out. Now we can pray against the spirit more effectively, and finally here’s the other point, our intercessors are meeting every week seeking the Lord for the specific mandated Word to be released at ChristWalk Church. What? Through the sound of our voice.
When the time comes those who are listening to the Lord and their spiritual mothers and fathers will have a voice to sound the release. I want our church to sound the release of that mandated Word. That excites me so much! You know why? All the demons in this region will tremble, and they will retreat back for the way of the Lord. And when that happens, our Church was advance with power and might as we move forward into the vision, the purposes, and mission of Christwalk Ministries. Man! That makes me super excited about the sound of my voice! And, God gets the glory for it.
As a spiritual father, I must do three things to help those who are listening to me. Write these 3 steps down as you listen to this podcast and expect to receive them from spiritual fathers and mothers as you move forward.
Number One: I must confirm those that I am teaching.
Number Two: I must rebuke those that I am teaching and sometimes it may be a little painful.
And Number Three: I must help refine them, shaping the sound of their voice.
Here it is in the Bible, this is what the apostle Paul told Timothy concerning the sound of his voice. Herald and preach the word, keep your sense of urgency, meaning standby and be at hand ready whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable, whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome. You, as a preacher of the Word, are to show people in what way their lives are wrong and convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging, and encouraging them being unflagging in an inexhaustible patience and teaching. 2nd Timothy 4, 2 .
So why did Paul tell Timothy this? And why should we be this kind of spiritual father and mother to others? The answer is in the next verse: Here it goes . . .
For the time is coming when people will not tolerate endure sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears that are itching for something pleasing and gratifying they will gather to themselves, one teacher after another to a considerable number chosen to satisfy the their own liking and to foster the errors they hold. And they will turn aside from hearing the truth and wonder often times to myths and man-made fictions. As for you, be calm and cool and steady except and suffer and unflinchingly every hardship. And listen, do the work of an evangelist fully performing all the duties of your ministry. 2nd Timothy 4, 3 through 5
Here is the take away from this podcast: “You have a voice!”
I want you to say it right now “I Have a Voice” but …
BUT the sound of your voice has to be developed before it can come forward with a mandated Word God desires to release through you and your church. So what you need to do is honor your spiritual mothers and fathers as they help shape your voice.
Honoring them will place value on what they say to you as they train your voice and spend time with you. This value will allow their influence to strengthen the sound of your voice.
I am nearly 51 and over the years I've had several spiritual mothers and fathers confirm, rebuke, and refine me. And from that, now I get it. I totally get it! I finally realized the value I need to place on how much they have influenced me over the years. Why is that? Because it shaped the sound of my voice. Praise the Lord! Do you see this truth? I pray the sound of my voice makes a difference in you today.
